we started to talk about chemistry and how different elements have a different number of protons and thats what makes the minerals what they are. also how the protons and nutrons are in the nucleus, of the center. then around it was the cloud of electrons. the type of mineral depends on how many protons are in the nucleus. if two atoms go near eachother then they can share the electrons and form a new mineral.
