science class week of 5- 18

in science we talked about how the alignment of the moon, sun and earth affect thing like the tides, the seasons and the shape of the moon. the earth's tilt affects the seasonal chages in weather and temperature because of the tilt of the earth. in winter we are closest to the sun but it feels the coldest becuase all of the sunlight is indirectly hitting us. the same thing happens with the moon and why it has phases. when the sun's light is hitting the moon and reflecting into our sight. that is why when the moon is in different positions in comparison to the earth and sun, it shows different shapes and phases.
