science week of january 5
In class this week we talked about the types of boundaries that two tectonic plates can have. There are 3; transform, divergent and convergent. Transform boundaries are when two plates rub next to each other and that's what causes earth quakes. Divergent boundary is where two plates go away from each other which makes magma shoot up and form new land. Convergent boundaries are the opposite. They go together and form mountains and other landforms. We also looked at the plate boundaries all around the world. There are 15 main ones but there might be smaller ones in result of divergent boundaries.
